Visiting a German trade fair: the Schengen business visa guide
For trade fairs in Berlin and Nuremberg you will apply for a Schengen business visa. When you book a visitor or exhibitor package through Nasa International, the process runs like this.
The visa journey, step by step
- Choose your fair and book a package. We register you with the organiser and confirm your trade pass.
- We prepare your invitation letter. Event-related documents for your application, issued with the organiser's details and your dates.
- Book your embassy / VFS appointment. Appointments can fill up quickly in peak season — book as soon as your documents are ready.
- Submit your application. Bring the full checklist below. Biometrics are taken at the appointment.
- Pre-departure briefing. Hall plans, buyer meeting tips, transport to the fairground and our on-site contact.
Document checklist
- Valid passport (check validity and issue date against embassy rules)
- Completed and signed visa application form
- Recent biometric photographs to embassy specification
- Event invitation letter (prepared with Nasa International)
- Trade fair ticket or exhibitor registration confirmation
- Company cover letter on letterhead stating the purpose and dates of travel
- Return flight reservation

Please note: visa decisions are made solely by the German embassy or consulate, and requirements change. Always confirm the current list on the official embassy or VFS website before your appointment.
